Many years ago, I was a participant in Rhett's Functional Strength Circuit classes.  This was before I fell pregnant with with my son and before Movement for Life was born.  My movement practice primarily consisted of yoga, surfing, walking, running and CHEK training. 

I was eager to get back to classes with Rhett after allowing my body time to recover from birth and tending to his needs in his first year of life.  I had previously seen such great results from only a few months of doing the Strength Circuit classes and I felt safe with Rhett's in-depth knowledge and holistic approach.

Movement for Life is different in many ways.  It's truly is nothing like being in a gym.  The exercises / movements work in harmony with your body and not against it.  There is a lot of emphasis on developing new movement patterns which many of us have lost with our modern lifestyle.  Its very humbling and also inspiring to work towards proper functioning of the body!

I feel so much stronger and more in control of my body since participating in the classes. I have been attending them for about 8 months as well as doing a home program that was designed for me to compliment what we are doing in classes.  I honestly feel the fittest I ever have and I have been doing CHEK training for about 6 years now. I had a shoulder reconstruction 6 years ago and started doing CHEK for rehabilitation. I have kept it up consistently and don't have problems with my shoulders anymore. The classes however have stepped it up even more due to the diversity of movements and the emphasis on different movement patterns. I'm surfing better than I ever have, and I've been surfing for18 years now. I don't get to surf as much as I used to due to having a 2 year old, but I'm surfing better now than when i was surfing daily.  I know this is due to Movement for Life.  And as an additional benefit, I feel a lot stronger in my yoga practice. 

My role as a Mother is also much less effort now.   I lift my son up and carry him around a lot, often with bags and shopping and whatever else needs to be carried. I rarely feel sore from this or have trouble doing so. I feel as though my whole body is functioning better.

On top of all this, Movement for Life is fun!  I love the classes and wish I could do more than one a week. There is so much variety in the classes and they challenge everyone no matter what level they are at. To anyone contemplating starting MFL I would say that it is great, give it a go, its honestly the best class/workout I have been to and you will see great results. There are no big ego’s there, everyone is friendly and just doing their thing... and it's not intimidating like gyms can be.
